I’ll be exhibiting three paintings: Swimming Hole which is an earlier work stemming from traveling days in Poland depicting children absorbed in toy boats at the water’s edge.

A second work, more recent yet also water-themed, Low Tide was drawn on the spot at the local reserve. Storm clouds brewing and the water ruffled by wind—capturing a fleeting, unsettled moment along the shoreline.

The third work, Messaging Dennis Glover, also draws on an Auckland landscape. The title references Dennis Glover, inspired by the view from Glover Park’s clifftop and its echo of one of his well-known poems. The closing lines feel especially resonant (a world in motion: shifting weather, shifting water, nothing fixed).

The final two lines from “Mountain and the Sea”;
And the mountains thrust up again
From the timeless loins of the sea….
