Looking out the studio window last week I was rivetted to the spot by the sight of an exceptionally vivid rainbow.
A blackbird emerged from a nearby Pohutukawa to look too. He hopped further along a handy telegraph wire to get a better look.
He then became very animated as he seemed to be calling to the vision, for his beak was moving, as was his whole body! Perhaps he was singing to the vision before him.
With a ‘mental camera’ I captured the fleeting magic in the three artworks below.
